Having heard a lot of good things about this brew I decided to bring a bottle to dinner to share with my brother-in-law. This imperial stout pours black with a tan head and has an light roast and chocolate aroma. Velvety smooth (get it) and light, Velvet Glove almost has a creamy feel in the mouth. The roasty finish tends to linger with chocolate and a little bitterness at the end. I typically like my stouts with a little more bite but this is a great beer to drink with dinner and is light enough to enjoy anytime and often.
Description from Iron Fist Brewing Co.
You know the expression, “A Velvet Glove and an Iron Fist”? It was coined to refer to a regime that used a soft exterior to hide its punishingly unforgiving nature. This seems an apt description for our Velvet Glove. Its placid appearance and unparalleled smoothness hide the truth; this is one fiendishly strong stout. Rich, chocolaty espresso dominates the flavor profile, with a velvety smooth texture that will haunt your senses.
